Hey All~
Hard to believe this summer is almost over and a complete washout. After seeing Farrah Fawcett, and Michael Jackson pass in June, along with Billy Mays and Ed McMahon, my grandma passed away July 15th. Here it is almost a month and I still can't believe she is gone, or understand why. I hope that she found what she has been waiting for and that is finally seeing my grandfather. Back in 2000 before he passed, he said to my grandmother, "I think I am going to go first", she replied, "I will be right behind you", to which he snapped, "Oh please, can I have some alone time?". Well, she gave him 9 years alone. I love you both and will continue to think of you for an eternity.

June..What A Mess
June has come and gone, and it has been extremely dreary. Before summer officially started, it had rained almost every day, temperatures barely got past 80. Unfortunately the month didn't end any better than it began. So many deaths the last week of June, making the month a complete horror. We lost Ed McMahon at 86. Farrah Fawcett at 62. Michael Jackson at 50. There were a few others as well, but these hit home. I grew up
with these celebrities in the '70s till now. I watched them at their peak and at their worst. My happiest times were when they were red hot. Role models in the 70's and 80's made more sense then they do now. Maybe I am becoming my mother and I only appreciate the era I was from, but it doesn't seem like the generation today have anything to look up to. Perhaps it's Youtube, and all the channels on TV that push celebrity gossip, but when I grew up, you heard a 1st single on the radio, or the album when it was released. Nothing was leaked, and there was a mystery that is missing from today's stars. I hope they are happier where they are at now and they will be missed in my eyes.
That out of the way, Good news for Barbra Streisand fans, her CD "Love Is The Answer" will be released September 29th! Can't wait for that. One thing I mentioned in my last blog that I wasn't looking forward to was Whitney Houston's new release, and I hit in on the nail. "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" was leaked (shocker)and can be heard on YouTube (again, so much for mystery), and it is a travesty. While the Diane Warren lyrics are great, it truly sounds like a leftover American Idol ditty without the vocal olympics we would expect from Whitney. Not sure if this is the 1st single, but hope they think twice before they let this rat out of the bag.Well, hoping your summer is off to a good start now that July has reached us with some beautiful weather...finally!

AMEN!
Weekend is here, and finally warm! I hope Summer does not come and go. Either way, because of watching TV, while it pretty much rained on my parade (Barbra reference for later), I turned my gloom into enormous rays of sun, thanks to the Travel Channels "Dhani Travels The Globe". Yes, Dhani Jones to the right, to the right.
I have been watching it faithfully for the....uh...TRAVEL, yeah that's it. Check the link for air times! http:///www.travelchannel.com/TV_Shows/Dhani_Jones
Whitney Houston is coming back?....ENOUGH ALREADY! 7 albums since 1985 is ridiculous, and at least 4 have been memorable! I have been a big fan of Whitneys from '85 up till about '99 (due to a killer remix of It's Not Right), but after the 5th release, I couldn't handle listening to the 'voice' and where it has gone, and what it could have been. However, seeing as the industry will do anything these days for a comeback and money, I see they racked in Diane Warren and David Foster for the first single. How about, instead of comebacks, we have 'sticking arounds'.
Speaking of sticking around, Barbra Streisand's project, produced by Diana Krall was finished months ago, and I anticipated a May release. Knowing the record label, they will wait for the holiday rush to push this one out. So sad....so sad. I remember back in the day when artists would release 1-3 albums a year! My how things have changed, now it's 1 every 5-10 years!
Oops..did I post another pic??

Well, going to enjoy the SUN and the rest of the weekend....
P.S. For those that haven't seen me on YOUTUBE yet, here is one spot with more to come!

FIRST BLOG...HORRAY!

Hello!
It's Sunday night, end of May, and after reading Billboard Icon, Chuck Taylor's Blog and being totally fascinated, I decided to give it a whirl. I love watching everything that goes on in the world now that we have become fascinated with Reality TV, YouTube, Myspace..etc, that it's a good spot here, to post how I feel and see how other people react as well.
Right now I reside in the Poconos in PA. After a depressing Winter, not just because it snowed from October 28th to April, but other items in my life during that period that I wish I could have reversed, but glad Summer is approaching and already on my way to getting back on track, thanks to amazing friends.
Just surfing while writing and see Susan Boyle has lost Britian's Got Talent. What a let down. Found her story so fascinating. Find it hard to believe over 50 Million Views on Youtube and yet, still lost, sounds a little fishy to me, that many people clicked away, but couldn't vote? Still, so talented that is for sure! I have watched it endlessly and cannot walk away without crying like Halle Berry at the Oscars. In fact, just reading the words, and hearing her perform, is causing me to re-think my life and where I am at.......Thank you Susan Boyle

There was a time when men were kind
When their voices were soft
And their words inviting
There was a time when love was blind
And the world was a song
And the song was exciting
There was a time
Then it all went wrong
I dreamed a dream in time gone by
When hope was high
And life worth living
I dreamed that love would never die
I dreamed that God would be forgiving
Then I was young and unafraid
And dreams were made and used and wasted
There was no ransom to be paid
No song unsung, no wine untasted
But the tigers come at night
With their voices soft as thunder
As they tear your hope apart
And they turn your dream to shame
He slept a summer by my side
He filled my days with endless wonder
He took my childhood in his stride
But he was gone when autumn came
And still I dream he'll come to me
That we will live the years together
But there are dreams that cannot be
And there are storms we cannot weather
I had a dream my life would be
So different from this hell I'm living
So different now from what it seemed
Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.
